Don't miss out tonight Darkroom Dubs Radio. As usual, they are featuring exclusive sessions with all the latest hot talent from their Darkroom Dubs label. This Wednesday Dj Set by SLAM.
SLAM need no introduction. The legendary UK techno duo of Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle have travelled far and wide, touring Australia, the USA , Europe, South America and Japan and they hold residencies at 2 of the UK's best clubs (Pressure in their home town of Glasgow and Fabric in the nation’s Capital, London.)
2008/2009 has been one of their busiest periods ever. Performing dynamic sets at many of the world’s leading festivals including Monegros, Oxygen, Bestival, 10 days off, Extrema, Glastonbury and T In The Park, they have also played at some of the world’s best clubs including the legendary Womb In Tokyo, Cocoon in Frankfurt, Rex in Paris and Berlin's infamous Watergate and Berghain to name a few. At the end of 2008 they celebrated 10 years of their own club Pressure, with a Mixmag cover mount CD and a string of hit releases including “Hot Knives”, “Ghost Song” and “City Destroyer”.
PARAGRAPH: Their new label Paragraph sees the pair focus on their own productions entirely. The first release “City Destroyer”, with its sinister pitched vocals and crafty, crisp and skippy electronic soundscapes, secured club plays from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer and Laurent Garnier. Paragraph 2, “Hot Knives”, was even bigger staying in the Beatport top 10 for 10 weeks with plays from just about every big name including Carl Craig, Anja Schneider, Dave Clarke and Dubfire. There will be an album with an exCiting new concept based around Paragraph later in the year.
REMIXES & RELEASES: This surge in activity has put them in demand as remixers with fellow big names such as Josh Wink, Paul Ritch and Radio Slave calling on their services. On top off all this they still find the time for new projects like Paragraph records. New releases include Paragraph 3, featuring Slam tracks “One Note Samba” and “Room 2” , and Slam remixes of Samuel L Session “Can You Relate”, Paul Ritch “The Wolf” and Fabio Gianelli “Apparlas” on Material. They have also completed an EP, along with Rejected’s Joris Voorn & Edwin Oosterwal, for Podium boss Len Faki’s Figure label. SLAM have just remixed Josh Wink ‘ Everybody to the Sun’ for Ovum and they are currently finishing remixes for The Black Dog, Silicone Soul and Steve Lawler.
SOMA RECORDS: SLAM are also the proud co-owners of Soma Records, which, in its 18th year, continues to be one of the world’s finest purveyors of cutting edge electronic music, with recent releases and remixes from Silicone Soul, the Black Dog, Mihalis Safras, Mark Broom, Joris Voorn, Prompt, Samuel L Session, Christian Prommer, Radio Slave, Paul Ritch, D'Julz, Adam Beyer, Steve Rachmad, Itamar Sagi and Funk D Void.
VAN MEETEREN & HYDE:
Jeroen van Meeteren was known as dj JVM in the 90ties and started 90wattsrecords in 1996, After several housemusic collaborations, he met Bart Heideman (aka Hyde) and they start making music in 1999 , Inspired by Kruder & Dorfmeister, they start making triphop and their own downbeat style. After a few years they refound their passion for housemusic again. In 2005 they made a restart of 90wattsrecords. The last few years "van Meeteren and Hyde" have been searching for a sound of their own, and that has resulted in a couple of smashing releases till so far. You can describe their music as a mixture between Deephouse and Tech-house...lets call it "Deep-Tech" ! They use the initials "VMH" when they produce tracks for other aritsts .

Darkroom Dubs Radio Featuring exclusive sessions from Silicone Soul & friends presents
This Wednesday Dj Set by Liapin
About Liapin (Afrilounge)
Richard Rotfuß, aka Liapin, was born in Estonia. In the late 70’íes he and his family moved to the south of Germany. Already as a
young child he was fascinated by music and started singing in church choirs and musicals. He discovered the art of mixing electronic music at the tender age of 16 and two years later he got residency at various clubs in his local area. In 2000 he started the techno project ”Bastlers” with his friend Sören Kröger. After a couple of releases on Proton Rec, he got booked at world famous clubs like Tresor in Berlin among others. He also started working in a local record shop in Stuttgart where he met Eduard Hartter and Markus Liefke – who now are his partners in the world famous Afrilounge collective. Together they’ve released records on Pokerflat, Get Physical and 8 Bit. They found their musical home in the Frankfurt-based label Connaisseur, founded by their best buddy Alex Flitsch. Besides the Afrilounge project, Liapin started the digital house label Genowefa Records together with his long time girlfriend Beate Opitz. In 2008 his first solo releases on Outils du Connaisseur and Connect Four created a little hype on the European house scene and also got him the first remix-works on Audiofly’s ”Supernature”. Whether it’s Afrilounge or Liapin solo, his work is distinguished by the large amount of heart & soul that always is put into it. few.
