Tonight at 21:00 (+2 GMT) is the second part of the BKI-23 that started yesterday with Dave Angel's new mix. Today two mixes follow the BKI concept which sees one of UK’s most respected producers of House music, Jamie Anderson and a newcomer live set by Antonio Olivieri…
There are few electronic music lovers that haven’t already heard Jamie Anderson’s work. He has proved himself as a long-term force to be reckoned within the dance music scene, not only through his own broad spectrum of production talents across the colours of dance music but also from his exceptionally high quality DJ and live performances around the globe.Jamie first made his name internationally in the early 90’s and quickly became a recognised pioneer of the UK Tech-House scene. Coming from a strong musical background growing up around musicians in West London and training in improvisation and keyboards with Bristol based Jazz aficionado Dave Buxton, Jamie set up Artform Studios where he engineers and produces the majority of his work and collaborations. His groundbreaking debut album was released in 2001; Jamie Anderson ‘Blue Music’ (NRK), and recent collaboration album with Deepgroove ‘13Machines’ (Harthouse).
Additionally Jamie can be found producing under various pseudonyms with other artists lining up to work and be part of his productions and collaborations. He has joined forces to work on studio projects with artists such as Jesse Rose, Owain K, Jerome, Louis Osbourne, Deepgroove and Switch. Jamie is also the co-producer for the successful Idiotproof project signed to Jesse Rose’s Made to Play label. Remixes for Nick Holder, Riva Starr, Armand Van Helden, X-Press 2, Michel De Hey, The Hacker, Paolo Mojo, Francois Dubois, Onionz and Audio Bullys have expanded his appeal as an in-demand producer.
As a DJ and Live act, his legendary performances at Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Dance Valley Festival in Amsterdam, Zouk in Singapore, Love Parade San Francisco, Cocoon and System in Leeds along with tours of Asia, USA, Europe and South America have all contributed towards establishing his strong fan-base. Having never allowed himself to be pigeon-holed or categorised, instead he looks forward to create new sounds rather than follow trends. For this reason alone is why Jamie is one of the world’s most exciting and innovative artists.
The last two years have seen Jamie Anderson release on some of the world’s most influential labels: Sven Väth’s Cocoon, Jesse Rose’s Front Room & Made to Play, Alter Ego’s Klang Elektronik, Radio Slave’s Rekids, Louis Osbourne’s Mija Recordings and Ireland’s finest house label Elevation Recordings. This year he re-launched his Artform label with new Artist signings and fresh re-design and now co-runs Amsterdam’s legendary Outland Records with an exciting release schedule. A new artist album is in progress and more outstanding music is set for release in the coming months – Jamie is very much the artist to look out for in 2010.
“Jamie perfectly combines the grooving subtleties of house with the twisted funk of techno.” DJ Magazine
“…elevating the sound of what Detroit was all about. He’s taken it to another level…” Derrick May
“Jamie Anderson has carved out a reputation as a producer able to mould techno and house grooves into a sound very much of his own.” DJ Magazine (2001)
“…one of the UK’s best at surfing the techno / house hinterland in style.” DMC Update

Antonio Olivieri, born in Italy, is a passionate music lover. Like an already heard story, it all began thanks to his parents who made him study classical guitar for 12 years. Apart from this “guided entry” into the music world, Antonio soon enjoyed the taste of exploring music in an independent way, slowly leaving the classical repertoire for a more genuine and even immature take on autonomous composing.
DJ-ing and producing tracks have been stimulating his aesthetics in both directions, which aided him to appear on 3 records at an early age on the Italian major label Saifam Group. This proved to be a too ‘mainstream oriented’ climate in the end for Antonio.
Tired of the Italian music scene and the social and political situation, Antonio left Italy to study in Munich. In 2008, he moved to Berlin, leaving lots of things behind him and trying to find his peace in a more rational and pleasant German society.
Fulfilling his philological view of the music business and the music itself, Antonio is exclusively performing live sets… a purist approach to the genre, this turns into a groovy and melodic live set which Antonio can freely manage in all of its parts and its arrangement for a more genuine live-feeling.
2010 sees Antonio busy with releases on various labels featuring his typical groovy and melodic style. A symbol of his personal and somehow funny view of music is certainly “Together E.P.” on the German label LustundFreu.de. As he states, his live set is currently becoming “a more dancefloor oriented walk through”funk, tech-house and love aiming at reaching a tasty mix of solid grooves and melody sequences”…

Interesting Monday program tonight. Don't miss at 20:00 (+2 GMT) Adreas "ViaSound Rules", followed at 22:00 (+2 GMT) by Atlante Group’s 5th show in a row.
Tonight they present Dj Sim's (http://redisland-productions.com) who is friend of Group Atlante on the island of Reunion. It is a soft, precise and very catchy mix.
As they also mention: Dj Sim is very active in the development and re-new style of House, Teck Reunion. (Indian Ocean). We welcome his set because he has a perfect mix of technical disclosure compositions Atlante Group quietly putting himself at work in the mix. We know it's difficult for a DJ to contain a mixture slow but important for the listeners. «Precious Atlante releases mix for a radio broadcast»

They have also released their ATL 069 album Expression II (the second and last of the short series Expression). You can check it out at Juno Downloads http://www.junodownload.com/products/1624662-02.htm

1 Express II.3 (Expression 1: The Algerian reprise)
2 Piano Conforte (Mono Chord I)
3 X.E (Second Expression)
But the night doesn’t end there. At 23:00 (+2 GMT) be sure to tune in for Dave Angel’s new mix, BKI-23. He has collaborated with the Berlin Kreuzberg Institut [BKI] providing them a mix along with JAMIE ANDERSON (Artform / Cocoon / Rekids: UK) and ANTONIO OLIVIERI (LustundFreude / LYHU / Celestial: Berlin) both of them broadcasted tomorrow at 21:00.
A few words on BKI: As a result of the collaborations between the DJ-& Producer-Team Robosonic and the Berlin Mitte Institut [BMI], a popular Berliner live Web TV show focusing on concepts related to electronic music culture, the Berlin Kreuzberg Institut [BKI] came to life. The BKI brings a “radio session” or “show” aka podcast to your ears, which features DJ mixes and live-sets of better and lesser known DJs and producers of electronic dance music from and outside of Berlin, as well as label showcases. The focus of the Berlin Kreuzberg Institut shows is the “special thing” that makes both the music we select for our listeners’ pleasure, as well as the guests we invite, stand out. They don’t only want to bring you the glossy big names and artists who have been featured a million times before. BKI tries to discover young talents and hopes to re-discover those who have been working, living and hiding “underground” for years, doing their thing and developing the music BKI loves.
Friday night's program starts today with Nicko Vee's "Romp Show" at 18:00 (+2 GMT). His guest for tonight is Nosak who also granted him with an interview, check it out below.
N i c k o V e e : Hello Nosak, first of all thank u for your guest mix, I would like to ask you how did you begin to produce electronic music, deep house?
N o s a k : Thank u for your invitation. So, I started going in for music very young. I went to a music school, played the keyboards and then I had some piano lessons. I realised that piano sound itself is not enough for me; I wanted something more electronic, more specific and since the music I used to listen to and like was in that style, I had all it takes to get into it... At first I worked alone with poor means and through the years I started using synths and digital audio workstations like Ableton Live and Reason, which helped me reach a desired level. Also, I studied at SAE Athens, in particular on Electronic Music Production - which was very useful to me and helped me organise all the things I knew about music technology by experience - I started making my first projects. Of course I don't think I only make deep house music, as generally I don't like labelling music. There are already made tracks on a more down tempo, which will be released by the end of the year.
N.V: Which one of your productions is your favourite track? Why?
N : My favourite track is without doubt “Unexplored Fields” , written at very special moment and which generally went very well. I found it in a lot of other countries' djs' playlists and the highlight was the release of its remix by Agent Matteo in a promo cd from CD POOL, the biggest company of music promotion in clubs and radios in Europe.
N.V : You are also a dj and a radio producer, tell us a few words about it...
N : For a year and a half now I've been playing dj sets named “of-flights” on www.offradio.gr every Saturday night at 22:00-24:00, returning in this way to a big love of mine, djing which I used to do in Thessaloniki's local bars. I really devote myself to every 2 hour dj set. I choose tracks which I play as iIf we are on a music trip.. The first hour is on a more down tempo and during the second hour I increase the bpm, but always with atmospheric and travelling sounds.
N.V : Do you have any upcoming projects?
N : Recently I have been working on some tracks for an EP which will be probably released from Next Dimension Music at the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011 . I also prepare my personal site, currently “under construction”, but it will reasonably be functioning in mid September. Apart from the playlists and Saturday's dj sets, my site will include some other small surprises...but be patient... www.nosakmusic.com
N.V : What inspires you?
N : The things that inspire me are not always the same. It can be a film, a strong feeling, an image or even a text from a book. Many times I play a theme on the piano and everything else comes naturally.
What I mean is that there are no rules. I may be very angry about something and this feeling can have a very positive aura on my inspiration.
N.V : Where can we find your music?
N : You can find my music at the biggest digital music stores such as Beatport, Juno, Traxsource, I-Tunes e.t.c.
N.V : Where can we listen to your dj sets ? Either on the radio or in a club ?
N : As I mentioned before every Saturday night 22:00-24:00 I play on www.offradio.gr and for 2 months now I've been playing dj sets on www.danceradioglobal.com every second Friday of the month with uptempo atmospheric music. I can't say I like playing at a club on a regular basis, but only occasionally and for a special reason. I've recently decided to devote myself to my productions and to a project I'm preparing for OFFRADIO, which will soon be worthy of announcement.
Evasive Records's mastermind is Rob Pearson, a dj we already know pretty well here on ViaSound radio. He was a guest Dj in one of our previous gigs in 2009. Evasive Records marks its milestone 30th release with a fierce new collaboration between the Bastard Son of Tech House, Rob Pearson and audio partner in crime The Undisputed Queen of Perved-Out House Rhythms, Kirsten Sees. Having spun together as DJs for over five years, initially at jamming sessions and underground parties, and as co-hosts of the Area38 internet radio show launched back in 2007, a production alliance was indeed a natural progression for these two creative forces.
This, the first of their studio shenanigans; ‘I Fell in Love With Mandy’ is a peak time dance-floor stonker that should float many a party animals’ boat. Twisted tripped out vocals narrate their way over an infectious bass groove and rhythmic pattern that will shake your socks off. Although we cannot make any firm guarantees, this track will quite likely get you laid with one or more gorgeous groupies if you unleash this on the dancefloor.
Remix action comes courtesy of none over than Leeds very own distributor of fine low down House slickness, Rob Small. He’s already had releases and remixes on countless quality labels including Soulman Music, Electronic Petz, Conditional, Cubism & Breakout Audio. Rob’s trademark shuffling beats, sub low frequencies and sweet production style recently earned him a spot in the Beatport Deep House Top 100, and are certainly in full swing here.
Rob & Kirsten add another tasty gem to the package with their ‘Disco Biscuit’ Mix which we think you will find funks things up rather nicely indeed. Last but by no means least; a Dub Mix is included for those who prefer their beats uninterrupted.
Curious yet?
Just sit back, relax and think of having your own illicit encounter with Mandy ……….
