Nosak interview to Nicko Vee

Nicko VeeFriday night's program starts today with Nicko Vee's "Romp Show" at 18:00 (+2 GMT). His guest for tonight is Nosak who also granted him with an interview, check it out below.

N i c k o  V e e : Hello Nosak, first of all thank u for your guest mix, I would like to ask you how did you begin to produce electronic music, deep house?
N o s a k : Thank u for your invitation. So, I started going in for music very young. I went to a music school, played the keyboards and then I had some piano lessons. I realised that piano sound itself is not enough for me; I wanted something more electronic, more specific and since the music I used to listen to and like was in that style, I had all it takes to get into it... At first I worked alone with poor means and through the years I started using synths and digital audio workstations like Ableton Live and Reason, which helped me reach a desired level. Also, I studied at SAE Athens, in particular on Electronic Music Production - which was very useful to me and helped me organise all the things I knew about music technology by experience - I started making my first projects. Of course I don't think I only make deep house music, as generally I don't like labelling music. There are already made tracks on a more down tempo, which will be released by the end of the year.Nicko Vee
N.V: Which one of your productions is your favourite track? Why?
N : My favourite track is without doubt  “Unexplored Fields” , written at very special moment and which generally went very well. I found it in a lot of other countries' djs' playlists and the highlight was the release of its remix by Agent Matteo in a promo cd from CD POOL, the biggest company of music promotion in clubs and radios in Europe.
N.V : You are also a dj and a radio producer, tell us a few words about it...
N : For a year and a half now I've been playing dj sets named “of-flights” on www.offradio.gr every Saturday night at 22:00-24:00, returning in this way to a big love of mine, djing which I used to do in Thessaloniki's local bars. I really devote myself to every 2 hour dj set. I choose tracks which I play as iIf we are on a music trip.. The first hour is on a more down tempo and during the second hour I increase the bpm, but always with atmospheric and travelling sounds.
N.V : Do you have any upcoming projects?
N : Recently I have been working on some tracks for an EP which will be probably released from Next Dimension Music at the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011 . I also prepare my personal site, currently “under construction”, but it will reasonably be functioning in mid September. Apart from the playlists and Saturday's dj sets, my site will include some other small surprises...but be patient...   www.nosakmusic.com
N.V : What inspires you?
N : The things that inspire me are not always the same. It can be a film, a strong feeling, an image or even a text from a book. Many times I play a theme on the piano and everything else comes naturally.Nicko Vee What I mean is that there are no rules. I may be very angry about something and this feeling can have a very positive aura on my inspiration.
N.V : Where can we find your music?
N : You can find my music at the biggest digital music stores such as Beatport, Juno, Traxsource,  I-Tunes e.t.c.
N.V : Where can we listen to your dj sets ? Either on the radio or in a club ?
N : As I mentioned before every Saturday night 22:00-24:00 I play on www.offradio.gr and for 2 months now I've been playing dj sets on www.danceradioglobal.com every second Friday of the month with uptempo atmospheric music. I can't say I like playing at a club on a regular basis, but only occasionally and for a special reason. I've recently decided to devote myself to my productions and to a project I'm preparing for OFFRADIO, which will soon be worthy of announcement.
